[C14] Business Development Intern (Global Compact Network Singapore)

Organisation Overview: United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore is the local chapter of the UN Global Compact, mobilising businesses in Singapore and across Asia to advance sustainable and responsible practices. It supports companies in aligning with global standards on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, while providing platforms, programmes, and partnerships to turn sustainability commitments into measurable action and impact.

Brief Description: Support UNGCNS in expanding its network and building strategic partnerships. Assist with researching potential corporate and institutional partners, outreach and engagement, coordinating meetings, tracking partnership opportunities, and supporting business development initiatives. Gain hands-on experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership strategy, and professional networking while contributing to sustainability and corporate responsibility programmes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. To research and identify potential corporate, institutional, and NGO partners aligned with UNGCNS’ mission.

2. To assist in outreach and engagement with prospective partners via email, calls, or virtual meetings

3. To support coordination of partnership meetings and follow-ups with internal and external stakeholders

4. To track partnership opportunities, leads, and progress using Excel or CRM tools

5. To help prepare materials, presentations, and proposals for potential partners

6. To support ongoing business development initiatives and ad-hoc tasks related to partnership growth

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

1. To develop hands-on experience in identifying and engaging potential corporate and institutional partners

2. To build professional skills in stakeholder communication, relationship management, and outreach

3. To gain experience preparing proposals, presentations, and supporting business development initiatives

4. To learn to track and manage partnership opportunities using Excel or CRM tools

5. To understand the role of partnerships in advancing sustainability, corporate responsibility, and organisational impact

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm, Fri, 9.00am - 5.00pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: No weekend work required

Requirements (if any):

1. Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

4. Experience in research, business development, sales, or stakeholder engagement is an advantage

5. Ability to draft professional emails, presentations, and basic proposals

6. Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently

7. Professional attitude, strong organisational skills, and ability to liaise with external partners

8. Minimum age 18, interest in corporate sustainability and non-profit partnership work
