Organisation Overview: Founded in 1981, Care Corner is a non-profit organisation providing social and health care services to build hope and promote well-being for those in need. With 46 service points across Singapore, we serve children with special learning needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds, youth-at-risk, troubled families, vulnerable seniors and individuals with counselling and mental health needs.

Brief Description: This position is responsible for working with Care Corner Youth Services via conceptualising and conducting of intervention programmes with adolescents aged 10 - 18 years old in different settings such as in schools, on the streets, and with the juvenile justice system.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in conceptualisation and planning of intervention groupwork programmes in schools for adolescents

  2. Assist in engaging of adolescents in 1-1 setting and big group engagement to sieve out their needs, and steer them towards positive trajectory

  3. Participate in data analysis and coming up with intervention strategy based on data sets

  4. Partake in learning and development sessions with the service group

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. Develop a deeper understanding of adolescent needs in school settings, community context, and those who have offending behaviour

  2. Acquire interpersonal facilitation skills to work with adolescents and families in the conduct of programmes

Duration of Internship: 5 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm, or 2.00pm - 11.00pm

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
