Organisation Overview: Established in 1995, Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) [LBSA] is a voluntary welfare organisation dedicated to providing holistic care and support to help seniors age healthily in place with community participation, enabling them to enjoy purposeful and meaningful lives. LBSA currently operates 10 Active Ageing Centres, two Community Case Management Services regions (East & West), two Senior Group Homes, Home Personal Care services, that reaches out to socially isolated seniors.

Brief Description: The intern will be reporting to the team lead for TechCare team to support the coordination, administration, execution and management of TechCare events, activities and Gerontechnology project for seniors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. To assist in the technology projects which are designed for seniors

  2. To perform outreach and guide seniors on thetechnologies

  3. To support in research for technologies & write up

  4. To support in grant proposal writings

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to different service providers, government agencies and seniors.

  2. To be able to communicate with different stakeholders.

  3. To learn how to plan and organize outreach events with stakeholders on the objective of the event.

  4. To gain knowledge on the process of the full project management stages.

  5. To participate on the different stages of the project such as liaison with stakeholders, scheduling, testing and prototyping.

  6. To participate on project launch if needed.

  7. To be able to guide the seniors and share the information of their needs.

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)

Requirements (if any):

  1. Possess excellent interpersonal skills, meticulous and task orientated.

  2. A team player & equally adept at working independently.
