Sustainability Impact Intern, Events (The Matcha Initiative Limited)

Organisation Overview: The Matcha Initiative is dedicated to empowering individuals in their professional lives to adopt sustainable practices and prepare for a better future. Our platform provides a one-stop solution for them to kickstart their sustainability journey through education, innovation, and collaboration. We foster a community of like-minded individuals and organizations, and aim to drive positive change, and create a more resilient and competitive business landscape.

Brief Description: The intern will support our Events and Communications efforts, which include logistics and organisation of our monthly events (Evenings and Masterclasses). On top of this, they will support other departments where necessary.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Support Events and their communications efforts, which include logistics and organisation of ‘monthly events’ (Evenings and Masterclasses), as well as external communications including research and copywriting for social media engagement. Tasks include, but not limited to:

   1. Assist in sustainability topic research and initial conception of events, including programme outline, agenda, speaker outreach, and overall logistics;

   2. Improve quality of event deliverables and follow-up communications (buddies, suppliers, newsletters subscribers…)

   3. Help to build strategy for ‘monthly events’, including but not limited to

      1. Better relating monthly events to past and future edition(s) of AlterCOP and applying learnings from previous edition(s) of AlterCOP;

      2. Designing impact matrix for each event and reporting the matrix after the event;
         (iii)Better utilising and communicating the insights acquired from each ‘monthly event’.

2. Support other departments where necessary

   1. The intern’s job scope may broaden to include other project activities related to the organisation’s development. E.g., Sustainability topic research for online resources.

1. To be exposed to the corporate sustainability landscape in Singapore

2. To develop practical hard and soft skills, and contribute in a hands-on way

3. To develop be able to collaborate with various stakeholders

4. To gain insights into various facets of sustainability

5. To develop skills in flexibility, independence, and teamwork

6. To learn to contribute ideas to team discussions

7. To learn project management from idea conceptualisation to implementation

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
