Student Care Support Intern (Life Community Services Society)

Organisation Overview: Life Community Services Society seeks to affirm, nurture, and develop the intrinsic value of the individual to the fullest potential, and inculcate love and develop respect within the family, LCSS focuses on social and community work like mentoring children, youths and families, and the provision of before and after-school care. We also partner with like-minded social service agencies to provide effective care for the less advantaged children and their families.

Brief Description: Work closely with the class teacher to assist in daily routines and programmes

Roles and Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the class teacher, intern will help to

  1. Support children with their homework time

  2. Assist in meal times, transitions and dismissal

  3. Support the teacher to assist children in their crafts and other activities

  4. Help to interact, engage and mingle with children during outdoor/indoor play

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. Observe how class teacher manage a class

  2. Learn how to communicate and work effectively with young children

  3. Gain understanding of child development and student care operation

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm or 10.00am - 7.00pm (according to the needs of the operation)

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)

Requirements (if any):

  1. Enthusiastic about working with children and making a positive difference.

  2. Creative, resourceful, and willing to try new ideas.

  3. Responsible, patient, and able to model positive behaviours.

  4. Good communication and teamwork skills.

  5. Students or fresh graduates from education, psychology, social work, or related fields are welcome.
