Organisation Overview: A Good Space is Singapore’s 1st co-operative to unite diverse changemakers as a collective changemaking force to design meaningful solutions for good. We represent more than 15 different social issues and come from all walks of life, united in our dream for a more caring and inclusive Singapore.

Our mission:

2. Create opportunities for diverse changemakers to collaborate & tackle complex social issues

Brief Description: We are looking for a Social Entrepreneur Intern to work alongside us to offer A Good Space’s paid programs to various companies and schools. These programs are run by our training and education arm, comprising several changemaker members who run social enterprises and changemaking initiatives. The revenue from these programs also helps give A Good Space the funds it needs to continue its social impact work.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Brainstorm new ideas to create content (articles, graphics, videos, social experiments, etc) to send traffic to A Good Space's website and LinkedIn page

2. Source for partnership and revenue opportunities with schools and companies, to nurture more students and employees to become changemakers

3. Arrange for and sit in on sales meetings with schools and companies to understand their student or staff development objectives / corporate giving philosophy

4. Prepare proposals that align with the objectives of these schools / companies

5. Organise community / learning events for aspiring changemakers

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

1. Learn and practice how to develop a business strategy to identify new market opportunities and generate income for a social enterprise

2. Learn how to identify and engage potential customers for a social enterprise, including the specific questions to ask during a sales meeting and how to listen deeply into a customer's pain points

3. Learn how to scope business deals, prepare sales presentations to potential clients and basic negotiation skills

4. Develop advanced public speaking and presentation skills

Duration of Internship: 5 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)

Requirements (if any): Any previous entrepreneurial experience (including failures) or involvement with any ground-up or volunteer initiatives will be seen as a massive advantage
While you will be trusted with important responsibilities (no coffee making or erasing the whiteboard!), it's fine if you don't have the skills yet. All we are looking for is 3 specific qualities:

   You are committed to A Good Space like it is your own initiative; continually asking questions on how we can improve and do better. Even if it means additional reading or meeting new people to find answers to those questions, you'll do it.

2. Integrity
   You are honest, trustworthy and commit to doing what you say. To help you grow, we'll entrust you with important responsibilities that will stretch you past your comfort zone and we need to know that we can count on you.

3. Excellence
   We are looking for people who share our drive to create meaningful social impact. If you are looking for a normal internship to fulfil a school requirement, then this is probably not for you.
