Organisation Overview: TriGen was founded in 2020 to serve vulnerable older adults in Singapore with innovative intergenerational programmes. TriGen strives to bridge generational gaps through relationship building and meaningful interactions in its programs. TriGen hopes to inculcate youths with a passion for service and offer them a platform to gain healthcare and caregiving skills.
Brief Description: The programme will require interns to assist in evaluating TriGen's programmes. Interns may be involved in crafting research questions, drafting and implementing surveys, and writing manuscripts. They may also conduct qualitative studies, including in-depth interviews and focus group discussions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Participate in quantitative research, including writing proposals, data collection, data analysis, and manuscript writing
Participate in qualitative research, including writing proposals, conducting in-depth interviews, transcribing interviews, and coding transcripts
Participate in programme evaluation
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Gain exposure to community programmes that serve the medical and social needs of the elderly
Learn how to conduct programme evaluations
Develop skills in conducting quantitative research
Develop skills in conducting qualitative research studies
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: (Mon - Thur) 8.30am - 6.00pm, (Fri) 8.30am - 5.30pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
Requirements (if any): As TriGen is an organisation formed largely by volunteers, there will be meetings which will occur on weekday nights and/ or weekends. If you are required to attend these meetings beyond working hours, you will be able to claim time-off and off-in-lieu days accordingly. We look for interns who are passionate about serving the older adults and empowering the community to care for these older adults. Traits we look for include: Commitment, initiative, willingness to learn.
