Brief Description: We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Psychology Intern to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work with our child psychologist to assist in implementing interventions, and support strategies that enhance the well-being and development of our students. This internship provides a valuable opportunity for students or recent graduates in psychology, counselling, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and impactful environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist in the administration of psychological evaluations and screening tools
Collaborate with the team to develop individualised intervention plans based on assessment results and student needs
Assist in implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions and support strategies in group and individual settings
Observe and document student behaviour and progress during sessions, providing valuable insights for program development
Participate in team meetings to discuss case management, share observations, and contribute to the development of effective strategies
Help create resources and materials that support social-emotional learning and behavioural development for students and families
Conduct research on current trends and best practices in child psychology and special education
Engage with families to provide guidance and resources that support their child’s psychological well-being and development
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Gain practical experience in intervention techniques within a special needs context
Enhance your understanding of child development and the impact of diverse needs on learning and behaviour
Develop your research skills by exploring evidence-based practices in psychology and education
Foster your communication and interpersonal skills by working closely with children, families, and educational professionals
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
