Brief Description: Seniors
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the roll-out and refinement of activity programmes developed by the practicum student, ensuring they stay relevant and impactful.
Coordinate the implementation of activity programmes, working closely with staff and volunteers.
Train and supervise volunteers to effectively assist with programme activities.
Monitor the progress of the programmes, collecting feedback and making necessary adjustments.
Develop tailored activities for cognitively sound bed-bound residents to ensure their inclusion.
Ensure the sustainability of programmes, preparing them to run independently with volunteers, reducing staff time demands.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To gain skills in coordinating and implementing community-based activity programmes
Outcome: Ability to manage programme roll-outs, ensuring smooth execution and volunteer engagement.To develop the ability to train, supervise, and collaborate with volunteers to support programme activities.
Outcome: Enhanced leadership and communication skills in training volunteers and ensuring effective programme delivery.To learn how to assess the progress of activity programmes and adjust them based on feedback.
Outcome: Ability to evaluate programme effectiveness and make data-driven improvements for better sustainability.To explore and create engaging activities for cognitively sound bed-bound residents.
Outcome: Expertise in developing tailored activities that ensure the inclusion and engagement of all residents, regardless of mobility.To understand the process of building sustainable programmes that can run independently with volunteer support.
Outcome: Competence in developing long-term strategies to ensure programmes remain effective while reducing the reliance on staff.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 8.30am - 6.00pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: Polytechnic diploma or professional qualifications
