Brief Description: Conduct a needs assessment by interviewing residents, staff, and caregivers to understand preferences, abilities, and limitations. Develop and pilot creative, therapeutic activities for bed bound residents (e.g., sensory stimulation, music therapy). Collect feedback and document each session. Recruit and train volunteers. Compile a final report on activity effectiveness, challenges, and recommendations. Create a toolkit for sustaining therapeutic activities long-term.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct needs assessment by interviewing certain profile of residents, staff, and caregivers to understand preferences, abilities, and limitations.
Develop, plan, and coordinate creative therapeutic activities (e.g., sensory stimulation, music therapy, arts and crafts) tailored for bed-bound residents.
Recruit and train volunteers to support and implement activity
Collect feedback, document each session (attendance, activity summary, observations), and compile a final report with findings, successes, challenges, and recommendations. Develop a toolkit for sustaining activities long-term.

To understand the unique needs and preferences of certain profile of residents through effective communication with residents, staff, and volunteers.
Outcome: Ability to assess individual preferences and limitations, ensuring therapeutic activities are tailored to enhance well-being.To develop creative, therapeutic activities that engage certain profile of residents using sensory, cognitive, and emotional stimulation.
Outcome: Skill in designing activities such as music therapy, reminiscence therapy, and adapted arts and crafts to improve residents' quality of life.To plan and implement pilot sessions of therapeutic activities, ensuring smooth coordination with volunteers.
Outcome: Competence in managing and coordinating activities in a care setting, adjusting as needed based on residents’ responses.To collect and analyze feedback from residents and care teams to assess the effectiveness of activities.
Outcome: Ability to evaluate the success of therapeutic activities and identify areas for improvement based on feedback and observations.To document and present findings in a professional format, offering recommendations for future programming.
Outcome: Proficiency in creating reports and presentations that communicate key insights, successes, challenges, and sustainable recommendations.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 8.30am - 6.00pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Wednesday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: Polytechnic diploma or professional qualifications
