Programme Intern - Performing Arts / Visual Arts (ARTDIS (Singapore) Ltd)

Organisation Overview: ARTDIS (Singapore) Ltd (formerly known as Very Special Arts Singapore (VSA)) is a social service agency with IPC status that creates and provides access and opportunities for persons with disabilities through the arts. We promote visual, performing and literary arts through the various programmes (classes, workshops, performances) and events that we organised. We have established pathways for our beneficiaries to progress and excel in their fields and pursue a career in the arts.

Brief Description: This position is responsible in providing support for the Program team to enable, enrich and empower persons with disabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Managing volunteers and logistical support for performing arts or visual arts classes, annual productions, exhibitions, and commissions

2. Administrative work for performing arts classes such as the collection of fees for term classes

3. Other related work, such as publicity and marketing for productions

4. Support with other general and programme-related administrative and logistics duties

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

1. Collaborative practices across disciplines and sectors, to learn and appreciate the vibrant arts & disability landscape

2. Diversity awareness and management, to build a strong skillset in interpersonal relationship skills with people

3. Social Service Programme Development to learn skills in programme management which will be honed through designing several iterations of programmes for beneficiaries, such as pedagogy-driven classes, productions, exhibitions, etc

4. Marketing & Public Relations, to gain a sensitivity to differing audience and growing an acute understanding of social media marketing and relationship management

Duration of Internship: 5 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.30am - 6.30pm

Work Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)

Requirements (if any):

1. Demonstrate a track record of arts education (such as involvement in a performing arts/visual arts CCA/programmes in school), or show an appreciation of performing art forms (dance, music, theatre) or visual art forms (e.g. clay, oil painting, digital art, etc.)

2. Have good communication skills (not limited to written and spoken language - sign language is a useful communication method)

3. Have experience in video editing and graphic design

4. Have experience working with people with disabilities

5. Be caring, open-minded, and willing to go the extra mile
