Organisation Overview: Care Community Services Society is called to serve the community and to influence and equip individuals and families for empowered living through all generations. CCSS serves more than 2,200 beneficiaries through various programmes such as mentoring for community children and youths, engagement activities for vulnerable seniors, resources for ex-offenders, cognitive care for older individuals with or at risk of dementia, and assistance to other persons in need.
Brief Description: Intern is responsible for supporting the delivery and implementation of community-based Children’s Programme – C.A.R.E. The intern will be given opportunities to learn and run a community-based Children’s Programme for children aged 7 years to 12 years old; mainly from lower-income household. During the holidays and special events, intern will also be able to experience the mix profile of children from other demographics.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Community Programme Support – C.A.R.E Programme
Support operationally and administratively on Programme days for the above programme
Supervision of Children; to engage and motivate children beneficiaries
Supervise and guide children in their school work during learning support sessions.
Monitor the well-being of assigned group of children from time to time and detect any unusual behaviour among them. Flag up and work with Assigned Mentor /HOD to investigate and follow up with necessary action as guided.
To be able to interact and bond with the volunteers under CK
Community Events and Planning Support
Internally-organized Events and Activities [Holiday Programme, Interest Group and Adhoc Events]
Support staff to plan, design and conduct fun-learning activities/programmes and events to benefit the growth and development of the children.
Programme Administration
Events/Project (internal & external) admin
Creating EDMs & managing registration
Finding & liaising with vendors (when needed)
Collating of events evaluation
Updating of events statistics
Collating of photos for vetting & disseminating
C.A.R.E Programme Admin
Track attendance and liaise with caregivers on attendance matters
Keep contact lists/databases updated
Logistics
Source, purchase, prepare logistics needed for events, lessons, and trainings
Programme Evaluation Support
Support staff to adapt and design programme evaluation survey, where applicable
Administer and analyse survey findings
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To demonstrate empathy and positive communication skills in relating with children from disadvantaged, diverse background, and volunteers
To learn skills and knowledge to develop meaningful activities and programmes for children
To demonstrate planning and organizational skills in planning medium and large-scale events involving people of diverse age groups [children, caregiver, and adult volunteers/stakeholders (Corporate, School Groups and Partners)]
To develop stronger administrative skills that drive productivity and promote efficiency
To develop critical thinking and programme evaluation skills and knowledge
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 8.30am - 6.00pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
