Organisation Overview: Care Community Services Society is called to serve the community and to influence and equip individuals and families for empowered living through all generations. CCSS serves more than 2,200 beneficiaries through various programmes such as mentoring for community children and youths, engagement activities for vulnerable seniors, resources for ex-offenders, cognitive care for older individuals with or at risk of dementia, and assistance to other persons in need.
Brief Description: Seniors
Roles and Responsibilities:
Centre-Based Programme & Services Implementation
Assist in conducting CareElderly programmes and services
Support in the coordination and supervision of services and activities for the seniors
Assist in the formation of mutual help groups amongst the seniors residing within service boundaries Attendance Taking
Events/Celebrations (Big scale programmes)
Creating EDMs and manage registrations
Finding and Liaising with external vendors/volunteers (where necessary)
Attendance taking
Alert Alarm System
Assist in the management of the Alert Alarm System (CareElderly@Golden Ginger only)
Programme/Event/Service Evaluation
Support staff to adapt and design programme evaluation survey
Assist in the collection and entry of completed data/survey
Analyze survey findings Administrative Duties
Ensure that users’ records are updated, appropriately filed and kept
Conduct survey to gather feedback on the AAC’s activities and programmes
Handle any walk-in enquiry or telephone enquiry
Provide clerical and administrative support in areas of filling and photocopying, etc
Finance and Accounts
Assist in simple bookkeeping
Volunteer Development
Mobilize and co-ordinate community volunteer efforts
Undertake any other duties as required Home Visits
Support staff in conducting home visits (Befriending and Buddying services)
Preparing and maintenance of records and information critical for follow-up actions, and preparing necessary reporting to staff in-charge
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Understand the needs and challenges of Seniors and in the Aged Community
Enhance Communication Skills with Seniors
Demonstrate planning and organization skills to plan medium and large-scale events (up to 150pax) involving people or diverse age group/profile/category (Seniors, Adult Volunteers, Vendors)
To learn the principles of Active Ageing and how to promote physical, mental and social health among Seniors
Develop critical thinking and programme evaluation skills and knowledge
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 8.30am - 6.00pm (Mon - Thurs), 8.30am - 12.00pm (Fri-Sat)
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Friday, Wednesday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
