Organisation Overview: Bethesda CARE Centre (BCARE) was established in 1996 as a social service agency dedicated to serving the community. Our vision is to foster communities of care through bridging gaps and building lives in our neighbourhood. We reach out to children, youths, families, seniors and persons with mental health conditions. Our efforts are dedicated to aiding the poor, marginalised and vulnerable individuals. We also aim to enhance the lives of individuals through engaging and meaningful activities.

Brief Description: Interns will be involved in our mental health programmes for both adults and youths as we run mental health programmes at our centre for both adults and youths. In addition, we also conduct groupworks for schools. Interns will be actively involved in planning and facilitating programmes for the beneficiaries.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in programme planning

  2. Facilitation of programme and workshops

  3. Preparation of training materials

  4. Home visitations

  5. Administrative support

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be able to interact with persons with mental health conditions

  2. To gain knowledge on the different aspects of mental health conditions

  3. To be given the platform to be involved in and learn about programme planning

  4. To be involved in running mental health related activities and workshop

  5. To be exposed to other social work related areas in the organisation

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualification: Polytechnic diploma or University graduates (Current Polytechnic students or University undergraduates are welcome as well)

Requirements (if any):

  1. Passion to work with seniors/ persons with mental health conditions/ seniors

  2. Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
