Organisation Overview: D2L.sg is a tech-based social enterprise that offers holistic, one-stop, and end-to-end food surplus/waste management service that aims to foster a circular loop where ALL TYPES of food surplus and waste go to their highest and best use via our smart-matching technology.

Brief Description: As an Operations Intern, you will support daily account management, especially logistical and operational tasks for D2L.sg's clients, ensuring smooth coordination for food surplus/waste management including collection, allocation, and redistribution initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to food waste reduction by supporting the rescue and redistribution of surplus food.

  2. Assist with logistics planning and coordination with partner organisations, including offtakers.

  3. Handle clients' invoicing after each transaction.

  4. Support the rescue and redistribution of surplus food through coordination with our partners, volunteers (DSS), and communities in need.

  5. Participate in community events and outreach efforts to engage volunteers and the public in our mission to reduce food waste.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to end-to-end food surplus/waste management

  2. To apply problem-solving skills in optimising operational processes

  3. To participate in planning and executing food surplus/waste management activities

  4. To learn how to work collaboratively in a fast-paced operations team

  5. To gain knowledge of best practices in sustainable food surplus/waste management

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
