Marketing Intern (Soap Cycling (Singapore) Ltd)

Organisation Overview: Soap Cycling Singapore (SCSG) is a community-centric, non-profit social enterprise that aims to provide means of sanitation to improve hygiene for the vulnerable groups of people locally and internationally, reduce wastage in the hospitality industry by upcycling and provide opportunities for education and empowerment through recycling soap.

Brief Description: Soap Cycling Singapore began in 2017. Since then, we’ve anchored ourselves as a non-profit social enterprise which adopts a community-centric approach to reducing wastage and providing sanitation solutions to those in need. In 2019, we have collected 1,400kg of soap and distributed 1,200kg of soap to 3,000 people in 10 countries. Soap Cycling Singapore looking to do more - and we’d love to have you as a part of our team. This role pertains to our Marketing and Communications initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will consist of project-based and operational tasks:

Operational tasks - an exciting opportunity to get a glimpse into the work that Soap Cycling does in Singapore. This consists of:

1. Soap Management - Collection, Management and Distribution of soap from and to our partners, and;

2. Event Management - Assisting in the planning and execution of volunteering events.

Project tasks - This list is non-exhaustive, and is indicative of projects which interns can choose to undertake based on their interests. You can opt for any one of the items on this list, or propose your own.

1. Marketing - Includes newsletters, maintaining our social media presence through content planning, collecting stories etc.

2. Photography and Videography - design of publicity and training materials.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

At the end of the internship, participants should:

1. Gain an appreciation on issues related to Soap Cycling's organisational goals;

2. Understand more about the state of social enterprises and social issues in Singapore;

3. Develop both hard and soft skills in their field of work that will benefit them as they execute the role and prospectively.

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
