Marketing Intern (MoNo Foods by LND Concept)

Organisation Overview: MoNo is a sustainability-focused social enterprise founded in 2022. We work to raise awareness of the food waste problem in Singapore by changing consumer perspectives on food items that have passed their Best-Before dates but are still safe for consumption. We also divert surplus food away from landfills through our physical space in Tekka Place and hosting regular donation drives to support underprivileged communities.

Brief Description: We are looking for a motivated and responsible individual who will assist with running the space and interacting with customers. Interns will also contribute in the behind-the-scenes work of running MoNo, including publicity, supplier, events planning, volunteer management etc. This internship is an opportunity to gain an understanding of the sustainability sector and experience what it is like to be part of a growing start-up driven to make the world a greener and better place.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Take charge of our physical space in Tekka Place, ensuring the space is manned by volunteers or yourself, educating customers about food waste, facilitating payment, keeping the space neat and tidy, shelves stocked

2. Generate timely and creative content for our social media platforms

3. Liaise with suppliers to procure items for redistribution

4. Events planning for clients including donation drives, pop-up booths, sustainability workshops and talks etc

5. Host events and educate about food waste

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

1. To learn how to interact with customers warmly

2. To be exposed to different aspects of the food and sustainability industries

3. To learn how to work with people from different backgrounds

4. To participate in external talks, workshops and pop-up stores enthusiastically

5. To learn how to consider different stakeholders in organising events

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: 11.00am - 9.00pm, 5 days a week (to choose which 5 days)

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)

Requirements (if any):

1. A calm, responsible and organized individual

2. Able to commit for 6 months

3. Not afraid to step out of comfort zone and try new things

4. Passionate and interested to learn more about sustainability and food waste
