Organisation Overview: Life Community Services Society seeks to affirm, nurture, and develop the intrinsic value of the individual to the fullest potential, and inculcate love and develop respect within the family, LCSS focuses on social and community work like mentoring children, youths and families, and the provision of before and after-school care. We also partner with like-minded social service agencies to provide effective care for the less advantaged children and their families.
Brief Description: Join us in the creative process of advocating and championing child mentoring in Singapore and beyond. Help be the voice of children from vulnerable backgrounds, and inspire teams and individuals to be part of the child mentoring movement. You will be mentored by experienced social service professionals, and gain first-hand knowledge and experience with children from vulnerable backgrounds including those whose parents are incarcerated.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Building a distinctive brand identity and presence for LCSS within and beyond the social service sector
Supporting LCSS’s branding, content, and marketing efforts across our key communications channels (e.g. social media, newsletters, website)
Creating compelling and impactful content for various platforms and in various formats
Contributing to culture-building by collaborating with stakeholders and partners to advocate for child-mentoring
Providing marketing and communications support for corporate programmes and events
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing and communications initiatives
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To develop empathy and compassion for children from vulnerable backgrounds and deeply understand their needs
To learn how to enhance the organisation's public image through effective marketing and communication strategies
To gain practical knowledge and skills in non-profit management, including community engagement and stakeholder management
To develop skills in content creation across multiple platforms
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
Requirements (if any):
Student/Undergraduate from a Polytechnic or University (preferably majoring in Business / Marketing /Communications / Design or a related field)
Passion and interest for non-profit work - with a focus on uplifting children and families
Creativity and empathy
A sharp eye for detail and aesthetics
Systematic, organised, and disciplined
Willingness to learn
Strong command of English (written and spoken)
Able to work well both independently and in teams
