Organisation Overview: Formerly known as Bukit Ho Swee Family Service Centre, South Central Community Family Service Centre (SCC) provides support to the low-income and vulnerable families in our community. While giving support to families who seek help in financial, social or relationship issues, we encourage community self-help and cooperation.
Brief Description: The Livelihood Programme supports low-income individuals in achieving sustainable employment and improved income. Through personalized action plans, upskilling grants, and consistent check-ins, we journey with each community member towards their goals. We also collaborate with partner organizations to build a shared resource network and enable co-learning, aiming to empower individuals to enhance their livelihoods over the long term.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Build rapport and follow up with community members through home visits or sessions to monitor and track progress in their livelihood journeys
Assist in implementing the Livelihood Programme by managing data, preparing admin documents and case proposals, and coordinating stakeholder meetings
Support research, evaluation, and advocacy on employment support and upskilling opportunities for low-income communities
Conduct outreach and engage community members who may benefit from the programme’s support
Perform additional tasks such as event support and updating programme materials as assigned
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to the challenges and aspirations of low-income individuals pursuing livelihood improvements
To be able to build rapport and conduct follow-ups with community members through home visits and sessions
To apply administrative and coordination skills in managing data, documentation, and stakeholder meetings
To participate in research and advocacy efforts related to employment support and upskilling
To learn how to design and implement personalised livelihood support plans in collaboration with community members
To gain knowledge in the ecosystem of employment, social services, and support structures for low-income communities in Singapore
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 10.00am - 6.30pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
Requirements (if any):
Passionate about service, community building, and fostering relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Comfortable with Microsoft Excel, with familiarity in data entry and basic analysis
Highly detail-oriented and well-organized, with strong operational and administrative skills
Strong written communication skills; comfortable with minute-taking and report writing
Adept at presenting to diverse stakeholders and engaging in community outreach
No prior formal experience required; volunteering or experience in human services is a bonus
Must be 18 years or older in 2025
