Organisation Overview: Formerly known as Bukit Ho Swee Family Service Centre, South Central Community Family Service Centre (SCC) provides support to the low-income and vulnerable families in our community. While giving support to families who seek help in financial, social or relationship issues, we encourage community self-help and cooperation.
Brief Description: Children & Family, Special Needs
Roles and Responsibilities:
Build rapport and engage with children, youths, and families through regular check-ins, sessions, or home visits to support programme participation and growth
Assist in planning and implementing education and development programmes by managing logistics, tracking attendance, preparing administrative documentation, and coordinating meetings
Support research, evaluation, and documentation to strengthen programme impact, including feedback analysis and toolkit development
Help with outreach and engagement of families, volunteers, and community partners, including volunteer onboarding
Take on additional responsibilities such as event planning, updating programme materials, and minute-taking as assigned
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to the challenges and needs of children, youths, and families in education and development programmes
To be able to build rapport and engage effectively with children, youths, and families through regular check-ins and home visits
To apply organizational skills in managing logistics, tracking attendance, and preparing administrative documentation for programmes
To participate in research and evaluation efforts that strengthen programme impact and improve best practices
To learn how to engage families, volunteers, and community partners in support of programme success
To gain knowledge in programme planning, outreach strategies, and community engagement practices
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 10.00am - 6.30pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
Requirements (if any):
Passionate about working with children and youths, and creating inclusive, strengths-based learning environments
Comfortable engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and building trust through warmth and respect
Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with experience in data entry, tracking, or analysis
Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong administraative and coordination skills
Comfortable with written communication, including note-taking, programme documentation, and basic reporting
Confident in facilitating small group activities or engaging with partners and volunteers during outreach
Prior experience working with children through education, community work, or volunteering is a plus, but not required
Must be 18 years or older in 2025
