Organisation Overview: Singapore National Stroke Association (SNSA) is a non-profit supporting stroke survivors and caregivers through advocacy, peer support, and inclusive programmes. Since 1996, we have empowered individuals in their recovery journeys and reintegration into the community. Through stroke awareness, education, support groups, and outreach, SNSA fosters connection, resilience, and a more informed, compassionate society around stroke recovery and care.
Brief Description: We are looking for a passionate and creative Intern, Media and Communications to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about digital media, storytelling and making a meaningful impact through content. You will play a key role in supporting our media and outreach efforts to raise awareness and connect with our community.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage the uploading and maintenance of approved digital content of the social media calendar, including editing reels and capturing photos for content
Conduct basic proofreading and copywriting for communication materials across various channels, with a particular focus on digital platforms
Draft and publish 2-3 monthly newsletters
Conduct media monitoring and compile relevant coverage or trends
Update and maintain website content as required
Support planning and execution of outreach events and collaborate with external agencies or partners when necessary
Coordination of assets, informing and sharing across to agencies and relevant internal teams
Perform any other tasks and duties as assigned by Supervisor
Supports ad-hoc projects, administrative matters, fundraising and outreach events
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To gain hands-on experience in social media and digital content creation
To contribute to meaningful storytelling and advocacy
To gain exposure to media outreach, campaign planning and event support
To build valuable work experience in the healthcare, or the nonprofit sector
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
Requirements (if any):
Background or interest in Media, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
Proficient in basic photo and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, etc.)
Good writing and communication skills
Comfortable engaging with people for interviews and events
Organized, proactive and a team player
Bonus: Experience with website CMS platforms (e.g., Wix)
