Organisation Overview: St Hilda’s Community Services Centre was registered with the Registrar of Societies and the Charities Act in 2001. We are a VWO, a social service arm of the St Hilda’s Church. SHCSC has worked in the Tanjong Rhu/Old Airport community for 22 years, serving 20 blocks of HDB flats. Our services include; Active Ageing Centre, Day Care Centre, Day Rehabilitation Centre, Home Personal Care and Medical Transportation Services with Social, Nursing and Care teams to care and support the community.
Brief Description:
IT Intern he/she:
Provides technical assistance for the Organization’s computer systems, software and networks alongside with vendor/s.
Assist to troubleshoot issues, install and configure software and hardware and support end-users.
Assist to monitor Org's networks for security breaches and investigate when one occurs by maintaining Org. software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information.
Check for vulnerabilities in computer and network systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist IT to :
Identify, communicate and manage current and emerging security threats with relevant stakeholders.
Develop Information security compliance frameworks, security policies and procedures, where necessary.
Work with business, internal IT and 3rd party vendor teams to promote and adopt security best practices.
See to the security systems, such as firewalls, data protection controls, patching, encryption, vulnerability scanning, pen testing, and so on.
Assist to monitor the company's networks to keep an eye out for any security breaches and investigate it if one does occur.
Assist to install software that is created to protect sensitive information, such as firewalls and data encryption programs.
Project management e.g. Cyber Security and Active Ageing System
Any other duties as my be assigned such as :
Assist the clients in their morning and afternoon activities, including exercises, games, handicrafts and outings.
Assist in serving clients their breakfast, morning and afternoon tea, and lunch.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to current and emerging security threats.
To learn how to work with Unit Heads, internal IT and 3rd party vendor teams
To apply what one learnt in school re security compliance frameworks and security policies and procedures to the Org. in Health care sector.
To be able to do to learn in Project Management.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm (Mon - Fri), 9.00am -1.00pm (Sat on rostered duty)
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
