Organisation Overview: The Tapestry Project is a non-profit that promotes mental health education through person-first stories and narrative programmes. We equip individuals with accessible, non-clinical tools based on narrative therapy to support well-being, build resilience, and foster growth. By centering lived experiences and storytelling, we reduce stigma, strengthen connection, and create inclusive spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported on their mental health journey.
Brief Description: We are seeking a motivated Impact Advancement (Research) Intern to support its mission of fostering mental wellbeing. The role involves supporting the team in the evaluation and enhancement of mental wellbeing programmes through research, tool development, data analysis, and reporting. This is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the non-profit sector, build skills in research, strategy, and communication, and contribute to mental health advocacy in the community.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Impact Measurement & Evaluation:
Assist in reviewing existing programme evaluation methods and data collection processes.
Explore best practices and innovative approaches for measuring the impact and effectiveness of mental wellbeing programmes.
Contribute to the design and development of new data collection tools (e.g., surveys, feedback forms) to gather qualitative and quantitative data, e.g. focus group discussions.
Support in analysing collected data to identify trends and insights regarding programme outcomes.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations summarising programme impact for internal and external stakeholders.
General Support:
Provide administrative & logistical support to the Programmes team as needed.
Support the running of organisational events.
Participate and contribute in team meetings.
Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To develop a deeper understanding of the social impact space and the operations of a mental health charity.
To be exposed to various methods of impact measurement, including being introduced to frameworks, research methodologies, data collection processes, and basic analysis techniques.
To participate in conversations in the social impact space and assist in facilitating collaborations.
To develop an appreciation of ethical standards and guidelines needed for mental health storytelling.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 10.00am - 6.00pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
Requirements (if any):
Proficient in English (spoken and written) as all our programmes are conducted in English.
Strong interest in mental health and a passion to positively impact the community.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Highly organised and detail-oriented.
Proactive, empathetic and self-motivated and willing to learn and develop new skills.
Graphic design skill is an advantage.
Experience with social media platforms is an advantage.
Familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus, but not required.
Equipped with personal laptop and mobile devices.
