Family & Seniors Outreach Intern (Metropolitan Young Men's Christian Association of Singapore)

Organisation Overview: Metropolitan YMCA of Singapore (MYMCA) was founded in 1946 with a vision to lead positive community transformation. The Association nurtures children and works with youths as part of its mission to effect and catalyse this change – today and for the future.
The Association also leverages on social enterprises to benefit communities, channelling all net surpluses from its accommodation and conference facilities into various outreach programmes to serve the needy and vulnerable.

Brief Description: Children & Family, Seniors

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in programme management processes such as planning, design, facilitation, execution and review of programs depending on the programme cycle and period of internship.

   • M.Y Healthy Seniors

   • M.Y Wellness

2. Assist in administrative work and support in prompt updates of information related to volunteers, beneficiaries and partners

3. Stakeholders Relation

   • Assist in reporting feedback or concerns raised by beneficiaries, volunteers and participants to staff in charge for further action

   • Support staff in communication with stakeholders and follow up on participants’ development and progress

4. Safety

   • Assist staff to ensure programmes are conducted in a safe and secure environment and implemented according to relevant policies and procedures

5. Supports ACTS Division programmes and projects such as fundraising campaigns

6. Attend all related activities/meetings/conferences/trainings (internal and external) where appropriate

7. Undertake any tasks in relation to divisional outreach work as assigned from time to time

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.30pm

Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)

Requirements (if any):

• Possess passion in community engagement in the social service industry (especially the disadvantaged families and the elderly)

• Takes initiative and is process driven

• Good critical thinking, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
