Organisation Overview: SL2 Impact is a non-profit impact arm of Sustainable Living Lab (SL2). SL2 Impact works directly with communities who are experiencing social, economic or environmental sustainability challenges. At SL2 Impact, we undertake a wide range of community initiatives and education programs to address a variety of sustainability challenges from all 3 pillars of sustainability such as – zero waste, digital skills inclusion and active ageing among others.
Brief Description: Role is based in our Singapore lab & within Community Team, leading all direct community engagement activities. The aim is to improve community resilience & build support for sustainability initiatives. You'll expand the program to multiple locations in Singapore, working closely with communities in each location to maintain core program principles, recruit & organize the training of volunteers to become repair coaches, manage logistics, manage queries, collect data for impact measurement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Community Program Management:
Venue Management
Coordinate with venue organizers
Assist with logistics and prepare resources for monthly community programs to ensure their smooth execution
Get the new venues set-up
Volunteer Management:
Manage registration of new volunteers
Schedule management of manpower resources at various RK venues
Facilitate effective onboarding, training, and deployment of volunteers
Track volunteer hours and contributions for reporting
Administration (ad-hoc basis):
Co-managing the content on RK website
Customer queries management through voice calls, text messages and Facebook messages (other social media included)
Collection and management of fees paid online - Checklists, invoicing support to the project lead
Communicating with different stakeholders for the events/workshops
Managing community events
Management of volunteers, recruiting instructors, prepping and training manpower for the delivery of the program
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To participate and gain exposure in building community and resilience.
To be able to deliver community programs alongside gaining a deeper understanding of 3P partnership.
To apply and gain communication (verbal and written), relationship management, and project management skills.
To understand about e-waste issue and reduction management
To understand about community resilience and how it impacts society
To gain knowledge of contemporary sustainability issues and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm
Work Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
Requirements (if any): Monday will be an off day. Saturday will be a working day, with hours varying between 9am and 6pm.
Intern will be given a chance to work remotely from time to time
