Organisation Overview: Project X is the only non-profit organisation in Singapore providing social, emotional and health services to people in the sex industry.
Brief Description: The Communications & Advocacy Intern supports the organisation’s public education and outreach efforts. Key responsibilities include creating content for social media and newsletters, managing engagement across communication platforms, conducting desk research for campaigns, collaborating with volunteers, and contributing to monthly and annual reporting.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Content creation for our socials (FB, IG, Twitter, newsletter, locanto) in accordance with our brand guidelines and the needs of the community
Creating engagement on our platforms and various communication channels (social media, whatsapp, telegram)
Conducting desk research for various research projects and/or public awareness posts
Working together with a team of volunteers to assist with the research and content creation
Monthly reporting/ Annual Report writing
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to public education strategies and messaging on sex workers’ rights across multiple platforms
To be able to create concise, brand-aligned content for social media, newsletters, and campaigns
To apply desk research skills to develop accurate and relevant communications materials
To participate in collaborative content development with volunteers and support task coordination
To learn how to implement and evaluate strategies for digital engagement across various communication channels
To gain knowledge in monitoring communication performance and contributing to internal and external reporting
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 1.00pm - 9.00pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: No minimum education (i.e. A-level Graduates, Current Polytechnic students are welcome)
Requirements (if any):
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable engaging with people in person
Interest in sexual health, community work, and social justice
Respectful, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive
Organised and reliable in managing responsibilities
Basic data entry or reporting skills (e.g. Excel, Google Sheets)
Fluency in English; other local languages/dialects an advantage
Previous outreach or volunteer experience (preferred, not required)
