Brief Description: AGAM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Arts Administration Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the inner workings of a theatre company and contribute to its daily operations. The intern will work closely with various staff members and gain exposure to different facets of arts management.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
Provide general office support, including filing, photocopying, data entry, and managing correspondence.
Maintain and update databases for donors, members, mailing lists, and other stakeholders.
Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and coordinating logistics.
Respond to phone and email inquiries from the public and stakeholders in a professional manner.
Prepare and format documents, presentations, and reports.
Development and Fundraising Support:
Assist with donor acknowledgement processes and database management.
Support grant research and the preparation of grant applications.
Provide assistance with the planning and execution of fundraising events.
Help with membership recruitment and renewal processes.
Program and Production Support
Provide on-site support for performances, exhibitions, and educational programs.
Assist with artist liaison and logistical arrangements.
Support ticketing and box office operations.
Help with volunteer coordination and management.
Provide support for venue management and logistics.
General Tasks and Projects:
Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussions.
Assist with special projects as assigned by various departments.
Maintain a professional and collaborative working relationship with all staff members.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To gain a broad understanding of the administrative and operational functions of an arts organization.
To develop practical skills in office management, database management, and communication.
To learn about marketing and communication strategies in the arts sector.
To gain insights into fundraising and development practices for non-profit organizations.
To understand the logistical aspects of program and production management
To develop organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Minimum Qualification: Polytechnic diploma or professional qualifications
